softdown said:Everyone agrees that the 60,000 watt claim is likely ludicrous. It is a 24 volt inverter by the way.
A 750 mcm cable could possibly handle the voltage for several seconds? As memory serves....that cable has almost four times the mass of a 4/0 cable.
What kind of cable are used on electric chairs? They have to be huge.
Insulation handles Voltage
Electric chairs use voltage, the human body resistance requires more voltage, only takes 10mA to stop the heart
and from the intertubes:"The first execution used a voltage of about 1,700, although it was not officially recorded. The voltage has tended to increase over time and in the modern era the voltage is usually 2,000 to 2,200 volts at seven to twelve amps."

So get a step up transformer 1:10 hook it up to this Power Jack and finally there will be a use for it, an electric chair....... because it's doubtful it can do what they claim.1500W, 6× Schutten 250W Poly panels , Schneider MPPT 60 150 CC, Schneider SW 2524 inverter, 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Battery Bodyguard BMS
Second system 1890W 3 × 300W No name brand poly, 3×330 Sunsolar Poly panels, Morningstar TS 60 PWM controller, no name 2000W inverter 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Daly BMS, used for water pumping and day time air conditioning.
5Kw Yanmar clone single cylinder air cooled diesel generator for rare emergency charging and welding. -
Doubtful indeed. Yet at ~155 pounds, it is likely to be quite powerful. Copper windings are not cheap.
First Bank:16 180 watt Grape Solar with FM80 controller and 3648 Inverter....Fullriver 8D AGM solar batteries. Second Bank/MacGyver Special: 10 165(?) watt BP Solar with Renogy MPPT 40A controller/ and Xantrex C-35 PWM controller/ and Morningstar PWM controller...Cotek 24V PSW inverter....forklift and diesel locomotive batteries -

At that price I highly doubt the windings are even made of copper.
2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric, 460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Plenty of Baja Sea of Cortez sunshine.

It was $1000 at Amazon...seems to have disappeared. Don't think I have seen windings that are not copper.

My comment was sarcasm, but you never know.
Maybe copper clad aluminum.
This entire thread was meant to be on a sarcastic note, at least from my angle.2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric, 460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Plenty of Baja Sea of Cortez sunshine.

And I think some clone brand of test equipment installed iron weights in their gear to more closely emulate HP gear in the 80's

UPS really outdid themselves this time. Appears to have been dropped about two feet. Look at the large bolt head at the bottom of the unit. Some of the racking busted loose. Weighs 102 pounds instead of 150. The coil is wrapped.....could indeed be aluminum instead of copper for weight and dollar savings.
Seemed decent enough until UPS got a hold of it. Electronics are often not built to be dropped. The handling was so severe that I wonder if the government got a hold of it.
Yes....I gambled on it for a few reasons.
