Direct Grid Technologies Microinverter

It looks like enphase has some competition. The dc input voltage is higher than the enphase model. Is anyone going to be trying these things when they come out? website: www.directgrid.com.

Hmm! 20-year guarantee, 120VAC grid-tie. The power co is going to be busy tracking down guerilla installs.
They use the same capacitor brand as the Enphase.

Re: Direct Grid Technologies Microinverter
they really limited there options when they gave that high of an input voltage and that low of an input current -

Wow with these specs;
Rated input voltage range 150V –188V
Max. DC input voltage 190V
Nom. DC input current 1.23A 1.75A
Max. DC input current 1.6A 2.35A
They have a pretty small target group!
For What It's Worth - Enphase was NOT the first doing a mcrosine inverter, I doubt even Trace's Micro sine was the first,
Here's a Legacy PDF from Kyocera that show the panels mounted Trace Microsine inverter (2/3rrds down on right);
http://kyocerasolar.com/pdf/specsheets/linetie.pdf
Here's a PDF of a 1998 HomePower "guerrilla solar" article, this was a regular feature article of HomePower in the earlier years when POC and authorities didn't know what to do with us solar wingnuts!
http://www.pha.jhu.edu/~tunison/renew/docs/guerrilla.pdf
The article actually states "These inverters had been around for a while before Trace picked up the US rights. They are not Trace-designed inverters"
This also shows the Micro sine inverter just plugged into an outlet with a male plug, though I don't know if that was Traces intent, These did have UL listing!!!Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites, Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
- Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects.
