With a 400 ah 12 volt Battery and 2 190 panels and 4 100 watt panels.
Which would work better?
With 2 controllers I could
1 use the 2 190 panels on a 30 amp mppt controller and the 4 100s on a separate 30 amp.
2 use the 2 190s and 3 100s on a 40 or 50 amp cc.
Then use the remaining 100 watt panel on another controller.

Method 1 keeps like panels working together, which is probably the better of the two.1500W, 6× Schutten 250W Poly panels , Schneider MPPT 60 150 CC, Schneider SW 2524 inverter, 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Battery Bodyguard BMS
Second system 1890W 3 × 300W No name brand poly, 3×330 Sunsolar Poly panels, Morningstar TS 60 PWM controller, no name 2000W inverter 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Daly BMS, used for water pumping and day time air conditioning.

Would using pwm on one array and mppt on the other be a problem as long as both controllers were set with like voltage and absorb times.2kw array 6 345 q cells make sky blue 60 cc

Should be fine. I have small pwm arrays as well as larger mppt on both my banks.Off-grid.
Main daytime system ~4kw panels into 2xMNClassic150 370ah 48v bank 2xOutback 3548 inverter 120v + 240v autotransformer
Night system ~1kw panels into 1xMNClassic150 700ah 12v bank morningstar 300w inverter -
Is it possible that during long summer days with pwm.
To have 2 arrays on the same controller in different directions.
2 SE and 2 SW for longer charge absorb times.
With the advantage of slightly less over night use from batteries.

My understanding is it isn't a good idea to have different array orientations on a single mppt controller, as it can make finding a max power point a problem.Off-grid.

With PWM different orientation on a single controller would not be an issue, which was the question.mountainman said:Is it possible that during long summer days with pwm.

Sorry, missed the pwm reference. Post 3 referenced both mppt and pwm.Off-grid.

Thanks @Estragon and @mcgivor. sorry for the confusion.
Think I may have worded it wrong.
On pwm Would it be better to use 3 aimed se.
And 1 sw since in the morning bulk needs more power than absorb in the afternoon?

Yes, AFAIK with pwm the differently aimed panels will just put out more or less current than others on the controller. Pwm doesn't track max power point, so the mismatch shouldn't matter much.
I assume the panels are 4 in parallel. I wouldn't split a series string across different orientations.Off-grid.
