Energy usage caused by malfunctioning security light?

The LED light is rated at "25 watts" though it seems awfully bright for 25 watts. The light used to be motion activated. Now it shines all the time as noted in more edit. During daylight hours the gears work constantly in moving the light head back and forth.
So it is malfunctioning in two ways. I have no easy way of ascertaining power consumption by the gear that constantly move the light head - which might weigh a bit over one pound by my estimation.
EDIT: The light is on 24/7.

The motion security lights you buy at Costco seem to last around 3-5 years before they go bad... Say your light is now drawing 30 Watts 24x7:
- 30 Watts * 24 hours per day * 30 days per month * 1 kWH / 1,000 WH = 21.6 kWH per month
- 21.6 kWH per month * utility rate (say $0.20 per kWH) = $4.32 per month

Have mentioned that I see electronics do a lot of odd stuff. This light is slowly functioning better. The light is now off from to time. The head has quit rotating 100% of the time. Ughh. Moisture and "real bugs" would be my first guess.
Second guess, the motion detectors (vs an actual camera based motion detector), use a thin semi-transparent white "lens" that focuses IR onto the sensor... And as the living object moves, the focus walks across the IR sensor. After a few years, I wonder if the plastic lens becomes opaque to IR light from UV solar exposure...

There is a product that is marketed for something entirely different purpose that works excellent on plastics....it will clear up modern automobile headlites that "fog out" and others such as dash dials on older automobiles.....
Happich SemiChrome Polish......this is marketed for maintaining chrome on automobiles......it cleared all the dash gauges on my 1957 Volvo 444 in a few hours rubbing,they were so fogged that dials could not be read.. these parts are very rare and could not be found. What works as well is toothpaste, the third world headlight polish.1500W, 6× Schutten 250W Poly panels , Schneider MPPT 60 150 CC, Schneider SW 2524 inverter, 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Battery Bodyguard BMS
Second system 1890W 3 × 300W No name brand poly, 3×330 Sunsolar Poly panels, Morningstar TS 60 PWM controller, no name 2000W inverter 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Daly BMS, used for water pumping and day time air conditioning.
5Kw Yanmar clone single cylinder air cooled diesel generator for rare emergency charging and welding. -
What is working very well so far is Deep Woods Off - for cloudy acrylic headlight lenses. Just rub it in with a cloth. No idea how long it will last.

I tend to stay from using toxics, much better for your health. I recently bought a couple new style motion lights which don't have the lens and just have a small sensor opening. They seem very well made. Unfortunately I couldn't get them to work right and they would only come on when you literally touched the sensor opening. They are very bright though. I was refunded my purchase price on them and now I think I will hard wire them to a switch.
2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric, 460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Plenty of Baja Sea of Cortez sunshine.

The security light has healed itself. Probably just dried out now that snow melt is no longer trickling into it. It's been my experience that silicone won't stick well to much of anything (including itself once cured). It works okay as a sealant if it can be compressed a bit like a gasket after it sets up, but seems to invariably fail if surface applied.Off-grid.
