Powering a 5W USB powered computer?

I'm looking for a 12V to 5V converter that will keep going through a complete charging cycle. Suggestions? Ditto for a low power inverter, under 100W?

You may need to buy a DC-DC converter with a wide input range, and a nice clean 5VDC output. For less than 10W load, it should not be too expensive.
    here's a $45 90% eff. one http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/PYB15-Q24-S5-T/102-3185-ND/4477443

The other device is a 120V gizmo, that draws about 50W and if understand it correctly has a max draw of about 100W or so. So I'm looking for a low power inverter that I can toggle on/off or something with a low standby current.

That could be a morningstar Suresine 300 inverter. has a nifty on/off control, and very low standby/idle/inverting losses
