Wasn't just "bar talk". They mean it. Some of us are not interested in totalitarian micro management of, well, everything.

There is almost nowhere to run. Do you have a plan for fighting?

Government of the western world are completely in bed with the WEF/Gates consortium. Completely. Outside of the western world? Now you are at the mercy of the whims of the western world. "Another day, another coup."

Forgoing social security payments is a very distinct and significant price to pay. For starters.
The globalists have done exactly what they said they wanted to accomplish. Exactly. Their win. Our loss.

98% will make the ostrich proud. Good luck with that. Good luck to us all.

And I've been wrong before. There is that.

Dear Buddy, what is it you are pointing out? Did you just come to this realization at the town pub? For example:
    - When you take the manufacturer's statement of origin for your new rig in your hand you hold title to ownership. When you register it you surrender that document for exchange of a State title. They, the issuing authority own the asset, you surrendered it, and now you get to drive it on State roads in exchange. As long as you keep the registration current.
    - Real estate. You never owned it unless you could take it back to the original land grant. You are a lessor. Period. Try not paying your taxes on the real estate or following zoning rules and see who owns it.
    - You could really get in the sticks and extend it to a SSN. Who owns you and your value?

I know people who have lived most of their life not participating "in the system." Very few of them own nothing in their name as it would be taken. So they live their whole life looking over their shoulder for the next incident. They continue because they own nothing and aren't worth going after by the forces that be.

I don't play that game. I pay my tributes, leases and rent. And I live peaceably. I don't suspect this post will last long until it's deleted. It's outside of this forum's focus so I will copy and paste it to you in a PM.

Methodical disassembly of our constitutional republic is the goal. The plan has been in operation since before you and I were born but is now operating in full daylight with impunity. Eventually (soon?) there will not be enough of us around who have both the desire and the ability to put it back together. It was a truly great experiment until people were taught not to appreciate it.

One only needs to look at homeownership rates for different parts of the world to see what the WEF agenda produces in two first world "democracies" supposedly free. Homeownership in Germany is plunging and is down to ~46%. This is making centralized control of dwellings a reality fast. The US holds steady at 66%....for now.

And 40%+ of owner-occupied homes in the US are owned free and clear. But then come the property taxes!

And near EOL the healthcare system comes knockin'. Just getting in to researching trusts to avoid that glorious battle. Lucky to have kids we can entrust. Too young right now but you know, ducks and rows.

Yup, taxes and death. More litterally taxed to/til death. Wouln't it be great if we could require the government to balance their own budgets and use taxpaying as a bigstick. We are far off the chain.

Sometimes I wish the world held no dollars as reserve currency. Then we'd have to tidy up the books.

I firmly believe that taxes are needed and besides write-offs provided pay them willingly. But man, where is our representation? Where is our leadership? Where is our fiscal responsibility? We have entire montrously sized GAO and CBO only to tell us how much the latest legislation will suck and how poorly the various areas of government perform. We do what with all that data?

I would just add Steve along with most of the points in this thread that it is our responsibility (yours and mine) to vote in people who will represent our thinking.

The way it is now, very few voters have the knowledge to make smart choices.   They do not vote for the next generation. The current art of politics is to frighten the morons.

Out of 11 biological and step children I don't know of any that vote except (maybe) one. Other than that one the only ones even registered got that way as an automatic function of changing or renewing their driver's license. It's somewhat frustrating to the DW and me but we can empathize with their disinterest due to the lineup of candidates for any given office. But every once in a while a good person actually gets elected.

Unfortunately, voting has less and less to do with actual "government" policies. NGO"s (non-government organizations) are working hand in hand with government... For example:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You'll_own_nothing_and_be_happy

You'll own nothing and be happy (alternatively you'll own nothing and you'll be happy) is a phrase originated by Danish Politician Ida Auken in a 2016 essay for the World Economic Forum (WEF). After appearing in a WEF video in 2016, the phrase began to be used by critics who accuse the WEF of desiring restrictions on ownership of private property.

    Background

Auken had previously written in 2014 about a hackathon at the WEF that proposed "FridgeFlix", a startup that would allow users to lease all of their household appliances from a provider that would also service and upgrade these appliances. The proposed company would reduce the risk of residents incurring costly repairs and would work with energy suppliers to reduce power consumption of appliances.[1]

In 2016, Auken published an essay originally titled "Welcome to 2030. I own nothing, have no privacy, and life has never been better",[2] later retitled "Here's how life could change in my city by the year 2030", on the WEF's official web site. It described life in an unnamed city in which the narrator does not own a car, a house, any appliances, or any clothes, and instead relies on shared services for all of his daily needs. Auken later added an author's note to the story responding to critics, stating that it is not her "utopia or dream of the future", and that she intended for the essay to start discussions about technological development.[3]

Voting having less to do with Government policy is similar to what Governor Gavy says and actually does. The Blame game expert!

And all of this blurs the party lines. Our outgoing Republican governor made one last bill into law. No new passenger vehicles sold in my state are to be powered by fossil fuels starting in 2035. This is now law.

Neighboring states are wringing their hands. What's stopping us from purchasing our new vehicles in Maine, New Hampshire or Rhode Island? It's no wonder I have my '66 Mustang registered in neighboring Vermont. It's easily done, is cheaper and the plates are far better looking especially for vintage stuff......

    Good Morning Pat and Steve,

Nice  ragtop Mustang!  I have had 4 friends and clients come visit this summer to buy a Honda Genset here in Nevada. The shipping box says not for sale in California, Oregon and one other state I can't remember. The Ford car dealer here in Carson says he can't keep the gas cars on the lot. He has a very good supply of electrics.

Capitalism works! Unless the state is blind and/or Communist. I would term my state as Socialist at this point. Well along the path to Communist. I think the only thing holding some of these states back from going full-on frontal Communist is revenue. It's difficult to produce a utopia for all where the fat cats up top cede nothing at all.....but the lower 42% of the population (their voter bases base or cause) still pay nothing.

Still lovin' my coal stoker, take THAT Gavin....lol

Coal stokers are super clean burning, fuel is cheap and tax free, a Communists DREAM? Oh no, but it's C-O-A-L!!! heh heh heh

Sheesh, all the business trips to Ireland. Fun Fact. Pubs there older than this nation. They still burn peat for heat. They go out back and cut some bricks and poof they have heat! What a concept!!

That Mustang has been in my family since new. Uncle to Dad to me. Been fully restored three times. I took it off OEM with lots of steering geometry, suspension improvements so she drives like a modern sports car. The latest was the cloth top. Despise the vinyl one it had. Not everyone's bag but there are not many like it now. Thanks for enjoying!

The next ~ 1 1/2 years promise to be VERY interesting. I may make an international move at some point in time.

Can't do much until the Denver home sells. Dropped the price 65K and only have ridiculous offers from sharks, I mean investors. My realtor is not impressing me at all. Suspect he may be working for an investor he knows. But contracts are contracts I guess.

Anybody following Dr. David Martins well publicised presentations to the EC? 3 billion views on the last one. Next one scheduled for 9/13 unless some coincidence happens of course.

Most important person in my life is a nurse. Today she informed me that the local area hospitals have reinstituted the mask mandate. Somebody shoot me but make it count because I don't want to end up in a dang hospital.

The western world and China had some of the harshest covid protocols last time. Especially Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Sweden was far more liberal for some interesting reason. Likely to repeat though there will be significant resistance this time.

Couple years ago my mother fell ill with multiple strokes. Upon examination it was found by scar tissue that she had many more small ones leading up to that point. She became bed ridden and needed 24/7 care. My Sis bought a condo near her half way across the country and my wife went there for 9 months to help her care for her at home. My wife took a job down there as a travel nurse for income.

Long story short my wife's handle was Covid Nurse working in the Covid area of the hospital. My wife only had the initial vaccine, a requirement to keep her license, and no further boosters. My mom died peacefully and comfortably at home being cared for by a Covid nurse that still to this day has never had Covid. My Sis and her man never had Covid, no vax, until last month. My mother never had to experience Covid either.

I have had it three times. Each time it was lesser than some of the Flu's I had in years past. My rotating young doctor du jour, she changes every three years when her fresh from university time is up, always chastises me for refusing the vax. I tell her "you have a lot yet to learn young lady".
