I have decided to buy this in 2022 , in feb. 2022

I Just want to know what will i need to make it work. (Minimum items)
For example i dont' need generator add on . i don't need the distribution panel , I don't need battery monitor. I dont' need internet to monitor . I can wire it up like old school. 

Trying tokeep my cost done. 

So just wan the MINIMUM guts to make this work with 8 lead acid batts.

    If your battery meets the default specs, just plug it in.   If you want to control Absorb time or Bulk voltages, 2 stage or 3 stage charging or to read any error codes you need either:
    SCP  ( system control panel ) lots of push button menus to navigate thru  ( least expensive )
    Gateway ( extra fancy wifi router with Xanbus inputs and Ethernet outputs. Can stand-alone as a transmit station, or
    be wirelessly/wired to a home router.   I use my cellphone as a hotspot with mine.  A web browser connects to the Gateway and can monitor & modify many functions. Also has some logging functions.

    Both connect to the XW Xanbus and are powered from the Xanbus. ( Xanbus is not ethernet, but uses the same cables )

    I have both and use them in parallel.

    Your batteries will have a "care and feeding" schedule, from the Mfg, for the particular model of battery. Even among flooded lead acid, internal chemistry is different, with slightly differing charge voltages and absorb times & EQ scheduling.

     Most solar gear comes with an "average" default setting, which is "close to correct" but for longest life of your battery, the subtle tweaks to the settings needs to be done.

    What size is your 48V battery ?  8 batteries sounds like they are 6V wired in series.    

    How will you be recharging the battery ?    From the AC1 grid input of the inverter ?   From a solar charge controller ?

    So your referring to the battery charge profile then right. i already have that .Thus the inverter will not be set correctly out of box i assume thus i'll need the extra pieces to config this. Thanks for that. 

    Yes  i have Eight 6v batteries now that' ill be using on the new inverter once i buy it in the new year. I'll be taking funds out of my investments for purchase. 
    I also want to buy the schneidner electric  100a / 600v charge controller. This way i can wire higher voltage in two strings i'm told via the write up on amazon , thus eliminating my current combiner box.

    NOt gonna lie kinda excited. do we have any wiring diagrams i can follow to wire them up to this charge controller . i'll be buying 300watt canadian panels 8 more , giving me a total of  12 panels of the same. Hurray. so i assume i can wire them up 6 together in series as one string x 2 strings right?

    6 kW MPPT 100 600 (Part Number 865-1034). Can show one show me a diagrahm to wire up  2 arrays / 6 panels each .  300watts panels. plz. to this unit. Ty.

    Even skipping the expense of a combiner and going for the high cost 600V controller, you will need a 600VDC rated disconnect for each PV string, for safety.  Don't buy stuff till you price it out both ways

    More or less, to get the "rated output" of an AC inverter... We have been using the minimum Flooded Cell Lead Acid battery bank size:
    • 6.8 kWatt * 100 AH * 1/1 kWAtt inverter (48 VDC battery bank) = 680 AH @ 48 VDC FLA battery bank minimum suggested
    And for full time off grid, around 10% to 13% rate of charge as a "comfortable" charge rate for FLA batteries. I.e., sizing the array for battery charging. Using the "minimum" sized FLA battery bank, we get:
    • 680 AH * 58 volts charging * 1/0.77 panel+controller deratings * 0.05 rate of charge = 2,561 Watt array minimum (sunny weather/weekend use)
    • 680 AH * 58 volts charging * 1/0.77 panel+controller deratings * 0.10 rate of charge = 5,122 Watt array nominal (full time off grid)
    • 680 AH * 58 volts charging * 1/0.77 panel+controller deratings * 0.13 rate of charge = 6,659 Watt array "Typical cost effective maximum"
    And there is sizing the array for your loads and amount of sun, by season....

    For charging with a genset, around 10% to 20% rate of charge is typical.

    A large AC inverter on a "small" battery bank--You will be hard pressed to draw near full output from the inverter.

    Midnight solar has some, but they are awfully expensive, getting in the 600VDC range. 
      That's why I suggested price out a 150VDC controller & solar vs 600V because the 600V gear gets crazy expensive.
    Maybe you can get 600VDC breaker and an enclosure ?

    I personally, would not wire directly from PV to controller. Just too hairy to deal with on a sunny day if something starts emitting smoke.

    I use the Schneider Electric 600v DC disco all of the time. You only need one disco, and you only need to fuse more than 2 strings. It is far less expensive to use mppt-100 and it has room for you to grow. They are in the store here.  Good Luck!
