I may be in the market for a new charge controller. My present one is a Morningstar PS-30, about 20 years old and I think it is a Gen 2 PWM type. I would like some suggestions on type, MPPT vs. PWM, brands and models. My system:
Schneider Conext SW4024, Combox, SCP
4 X Lifeline  8D 12 volts AGM battery bank, 24 volts
768 Watt solar array
And the aforementioned PS-30 charge controller.

Reason for thinking about changing is to get more flexibility in my charge settings.

    You cant go wrong with Morningstar. Their MPPT controllers are rock solid. Maybe go with a 45 amp version if you want to expand a little.

    2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old  but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric,  460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Plenty of Baja Sea of Cortez sunshine.

    There is always the Schneider 60 150 MPPT which will compliment the existing equipment  by being able to communicate, it is perhaps overkill given the small array and is definitely not the cheapest option. Morningstar is good gear, the TS line is an excellent choice available in both PWM and MPPT.
    1500W, 6× Schutten 250W Poly panels , Schneider MPPT 60 150 CC, Schneider SW 2524 inverter, 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Battery Bodyguard BMS 
    Second system 1890W  3 × 300W No name brand poly, 3×330 Sunsolar Poly panels, Morningstar TS 60 PWM controller, no name 2000W inverter 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Daly BMS, used for water pumping and day time air conditioning.  
    5Kw Yanmar clone single cylinder air cooled diesel generator for rare emergency charging and welding.
