Also in the previous replies to this old thread @boB gave you the method to discover why the charge controller is in 'resting'. boB is a designer of the Midnite Classics, so this would be valuable information in trouble shooting your situation. boB said;
Take a look at the Reason for Resting number. From the main status screen, HOLD down the LEFT-ARROW key and tap the ENTER key... A new menu comes up and there should be a number at the top middle of the screen (and some other numbers). OR, take a picture of it.
Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites, Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
- Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects. -

You can't put 7 of those 43.2Voc panels in series on a 200V input controller. The input could be above 300 volts Voc It'l blow up

That is a photo of the WBjr Shunt status... And no WBjr is installed (?)
I think that this is the wrong status screen... Press and hold Left Arrow key and while holding < , tap the [enter] key.
I have never seen a Midnite Classic--Just my understanding of the button presses.
You have a:
200 Watts
Voc 43.2 volts
Isc 6.17 amps
Vmp 36 volts
Imp 5.56 amps
That means your Voc-array is ~7x43.2 volts = 302.4 volts (array cool at ~25C).
Way over your controller's operational range.
From using the Midnite Classic sizing tool for the 200 volt rated unit... You should be using 4 panels in series x 1 or 2 (or more) parallel strings. You could run 5 panels in series, but it is marginal .
So, either your system shut down because of over voltage (Hypervolt)--Or was damaged by extreme overvoltage >> 248 maximum voltage). Or your system is OK, and presently your array wiring is "broken".
In any case, you need to rewire to 3 or 4 panels in series --- 5 is sort of OK... 6+ is too high.

NOTE: Generally speaking you'll want to use the Classic 150 or 200 as they are less expensive and will handle more power. With MPPT controllers the higher the input voltage the less efficient they are. This is not a large value but it will add up to a little more heat in the controller and a point or two less in efficiency. BUT you also have to be careful not to have the input voltage to low. Most all MPPT controllers will want to see a minimum of 130% of the actual high battery voltage. So if we have a 48v battery and it has an Equalize voltage if 62.3 volts than we would multiply that by 130% and we would need a minimum of 81 volts on the input on the hottest day of the year in order to have enough headroom for the MPPT to work.
