48v battery and inverter questions
1, what is the best way to get around 1,000ah of lead acid without paralleling a bunch of smaller batteries?
I'm thinking forklift traction battery.
2, what is the smallest 48v inverter I can get?
The smallest highend name brand inverter I can find for 48v start with capacities of 3kva.
I see smaller 48v inverters on ebay but I have 3 concerns, first they might say that they are pure sine wave, but they don't look pure sine. Two, they are 1kva to 1.5kva but some how I get the feeling a 3kva magnum or outback would be more efficient, well pretty much all around, from idle to low load to full power. Three they're probably junk.
I was wondering if any one had a decent, small (500 to 1kva), efficient, reliable 48v inverter for away loads like the refrigerator and other small loads you don't usually want to turn off?
Or a small efficient 48v inverter for evening time when i just want to power something like a TV, computer, cable box and little stuff like that?

Not sure about the larger ones, or if you're asking about 2 different inverters. ExelTech makes a 600 watt in 48 volt and I'd likely purchase one used cheaply of eBay, seems they've been running about $100. I think new they run $3-400 now (actually now $600 new), I haven't checked NAWS, I think they mainly stock 12 and 24 volt versions. ExelTech is a long established company, builds in the US and I think still has a $100 repair/update policy on their inverters, NAWS had this up last year on the old website.
I needed to check on some boots on eBay so I checked. There is one miss labeled and one for $155 (with shipping) made in 2010, and one that they can't copy the name,$109 + $20 shipping, that they can't spell the name right! Here's a link came up in my feed;

Forgot to mention that it is hard wire able! even has a shroud for the battery cable!
They also come in an 1100 (and 2000) watt version.

Yeah I was looking on here and ebay for the 48v inverters.
All I have ever bought is 12v and have only really ever looked at 24v.
Are these smaller 48v 600 to 1500 watt inverters pure sin wave?
Because I gave away and sold all my 12v modified sine wave inverters when I discovered most battery chargers didn't work with them and motors didn't work well with them. And replaced them with a 2000w samlex, 900w kiasae and 1000w xantrax.Solar hybrid gasoline generator, 7kw gas, 180 watts of solar, Morningstar 15 amp MPPT, group 31 AGM, 900 watt kisae inverter.

No reason not to use 48v then.
The main reason I thought going to 24v would be good was because of all the smaller name brand 24v inverters.
It initially appeared that nothing small and decent came in 48v flavor, I originally thought everything in 48 had to be big.

Nope, many pure sine 48VDC inverters

...I think there is a real need for smaller, more efficient and less expensive, 48V inverters. The average off gridder doesn't have to account for high start up surge if they have an inverter fridge. The latter are way more available now. My Outback inverter burns about 25 watts continuously, that's not insignificant.
I'd love to one day wake up and hear that a company like Morningstar have designed a Sure Sine 48v 900w -1,200 surge- inverter. I think it would sell like hotcakes and Morningstar could package it with one of their neat MPPT controllers.
I do love my Outbacks, but just saying......

A very small name brand 48v inverter would be great. I still have time, not buying anything yet.
