How to connect 2 battery banks (12v and 24v) to one array and 2 controllers (one 12v and one 24v)

Hello, I am new to solar and have a hopefully basic question but cant seem to find the answer on the net.

I have one solar array 1000 watts but want to charge two different battery banks. One bank is 12 volts and one is 24 volts.

I have two Renogy MPPT controller chargers capable of 12/24 systems.

Can i connect up both controllers to the same array and have them charge 2 separate battery banks?

No.  You will need to split that array into 2 separate arrays, one for each CC...(i.e.  one for each battery )

No, a PV array cannot have more than one controller on it.
You could use a marine battery switch, and when one battery bank is full, flip the switch and connect the Array to the controller on the other battery bank.

To be clear--You cannot share one solar array with two or more MPPT charge controllers. You can share an array with two or more PWM solar charge controllers with the SAME voltage battery banks.

Otherwise, charge the 24 volt battery bank and use a second charge controller from 24 to 12 volt charging (of course, you have to worry about how to prevent the 12 volt bank from killing the 24 volt battery bank).

Best to keep the 12v and 24v systems divorced from one another, it will most likely end up with complications.
