Just running my cursor over the thread and I noticed that I have to hover over any post to be able to see if there is a 'vote' made.
I know I LIKED one of the recent posts and went to see if it was recorded, you  have to be over that post to get the results...can they be visible all the time rather than hide and seek?

Just noticed a glitch. Not of much concern, but on the post from Bill, above mine, if I'm signed in the date is the 29th, but if I'm signed out. it shows up as the 30th.
When you are signed in it knows your time zone. When you are not it has to guess, and may use GMT or whatever the Forum default is.. That could cross you over the midnight date rollover.

You're probably right. The old forum used AZ standard time and I had to be signed in for my day lights savings time to be correct, but that's a whole other discussion :-)

    I just posted here:  http://forum.solar-electric.com/discussion/comment/350693/#Comment_350693

In the post I referred to #6 cable.  The "#6" turned into a link.  What's that about?

    --vtMaps

Edit: it happened in this post also.

I think the pound symbol is interpreted like a Twitter Hash Tag--And the link is to a search function.

I don't use twitter/hash tags--Should this function be disabled (if possible), or just ignored?

I have requested that the Hash Tag auto link/search function be turned off... See what happens.

Just FYI, the hash sign is also used as part of a normal web URL to cause the focus to go to a particular point on the page. But it is of no use as a link without the rest of the URL.
In this case the link the software provides is a search on the Forum for that word or phrase starting with the hash mark. Totally useless!

Looks like (at least the few I checked) some historic links (from old, pre-conversion posts) are pointing to random threads. An example:

    http://forum.solar-electric.com/showthread.php?5556-Working-Thread-for-Solar-Beginner-Post-FAQ

    Is now mapping to:

    http://forum.solar-electric.com/discussion/5556/powering-small-led-spot-light/p1

I have sent a request to our support folks to look at this (it may have broke in the last couple days???).

I run Ghostery Blocker on Firefox and in this thread there are no trackers, but on other posts I did find a widget (httttttp://w.sharethis.com/button/buttons.js). Bill you might ask tech support why they find a need for this.Sorry the link showed up as clickable, i added a few t's in the http to stop it from being active

One last thing. the Wind & Sun logo (top of page) needs to be reconnected to the online store. Rick said he was, but maybe he forgot.

Does anyone here use "social media" and find these "sharethis" type buttons useful?

I use https://disconnect.me with fire fox to block these things.

I will remind Rick to fix the link to point to the store instead of the forum...

Sporadic for me too over the last few days.
Usually does not hold the login information through a reboot of the machine.
But it does not time out periodically that I have noticed.
The permanent login cookie may not be configured properly for the site URL. Or it may be set to expire at the end of the browser session (memory-only cookie).

I have asked our support person (pointed him to these posts)--I will let you know if I hear anything.

Also, they are working on the "random link" problem (apparently a VBB conversion issue a few years ago created several different link ID number mappings in the same data base).
