can i safely put in 151.23v in to the tri star 45 mppt its rated at 150v input

    Not to mention even though the rated Open Circuit Voltage may add up to 151.23, on cold and edge-of-cloud days you will see that voltage rise 10% or more. My OCV is 100.2 but I have seen it as high as 113v occasionally on those cold bright days.

    No but why don't you split the array into 2 strings.

    yes splitting the array in to 2 strings was my plan...2 mstar 45s each with 3 sharp 235s in with an option to add 1 later thanks for the reply
