    May have to find a used inverter (cheap!!) for testing.

    The inverter won't care much about a 2v drop (if it's a 48V inverter) Any switching glitches may trip it off-line. And you can't really put diodes in parallel, they don't share current well, unless you use ballast resistors (more voltage drop & heat)

    Maybe there are some hhigh power/voltage FET's that you can bias as diodes?
