This looked like a reasonable design for the price, except that the picture does not look like a 200-watt panel as stated. Opinions, anyone?

Thats a 40 watt BP panel. The 200 watt number is probably per day ....

now that is an example of one that gives solar a bad name. swindlers. for all we know the battery is a cheap fla that came sealed in a box so they think they came get away with calling it a sealed battery too.:grr next thing you know they'll be selling solar tanners.

For those who don't do the metric thing, the dimensions given (53 x 26 cm) work out to about 20 x 10 inches. No way on Earth that is a 200 Watt panel.

i noticed that too marc, but i didn't see the need to mention it as a 40w pv is going to be small like that. it does reinforce that it is not what it is advertised to be though.

0.53m X 0.26m = 0.1378m^2.Cariboocoot wrote: »For those who don't do the metric thing, the dimensions given (53 x 26 cm) work out to about 20 x 10 inches. No way on Earth that is a 200 Watt panel.
 200W/0.1378m^2 = 1451.4 W/m^2.
 145% efficiency.
Where can I buy one? What am I saying? Gimme a container ship full of them! ;^)

145% efficiency! I only need a few. I can use them to drive a light to shine on the panel, and never need the sun again. I can use the excess energy to make more panels, and the world's energy problems will be solved forever.
