Outback FX 3524T inverter/charger 3,500 watts 120 vac

For starters I would not run 3.5 to 4 kW from a 24 v battery.

You need to examine each spec and compare one to the other. Different items might be important to you.

Is this for off grid or grid tie backup. Generator input?

    Main differences:

Magnum has slightly higher output capacity. It also has a power factor corrected charger which will be "easier" on a small generator. Very easy to set up; basically connect the wires and turn it on.

Outback has connectivity to other OB equipment for seamless (albeit expensive) integration. Highly programmable which allows for more flexibility in system set-up, if somewhat daunting. Probably the "toughest" inverter on the market, even if it is "old tech".

I disagree with RC regarding the 24 Volt system & this size inverter. It is extremely unlikely you'll be running close to maximum capacity most of the time. Even so it would be under 200 Amps for those occasional peaks.
