Monitoring systems

Hello,

I'm trying to familiarize myself with the different monitoring systems out there. I am requested to find one that can send sms of the system's status every 30 minutes.

My assumption is that as long as that system can output data to a cellular modem, I'm good to go. But I can't seem to find a monitoring system that has USB or RS232 output that can also be programmed to send a status message every 30 minutes (programmable?).

Anyone know of such a beast?

Solar Guppy, has a freeware program SGView that interfaces to the Xantrex GT series inverters, via RS232

The SMA sunny webbox allows uploading of data to their web portal over GSM modem.
