Can the Xantrex XW4548 put out both 120 and 240 volts at the same time?

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to thank this forum and its members for helping plan my solar setup which I ordered today from Northern Arizona W&S. I hope to get the equipment into the Philippines by the end of June.

My final list of components:

12 units Kyocera 185 watt panels
1 unit Xantrex 60 amp Mppt CC
1 unit Xantrex XW 4548, 120/240 sine wave inverter
1 unit Trimetric battery monitor.

Would anyone know if the xantrex inverter is capable of putting out both 120 and 240 volts at the same time?

    It is a 120/240 VAC split phase output inverter... Basically, exactly the same as a North American 120/240 VAC home service.

    Remember that it cannot output all 4.5 kW to a 120 VAC load--The loads have to be spread out on both L1 and L2 and the neutral--Or a pure L1-L2 240 VAC load (240 VAC well pump for example).

    I believe any of the current XW product can be reconfigured (and firmware change) to a pure 120 VAC inverter if you do not need/want 120/240 VAC output.

    And the 6048 is only a few $ more, for a lot more capacity. And yes, I run the 240V well pump, and 120V loads at the same time. Even runs the pump and the welder at the same time (while the sun is up)
    But I think I'm going to have to get the load balancing transformer to keep the house happy.
