Which is a better built grid tie inverter system for the long haul? Which is a better choice?

    I vote for the XW. First because it is more versatile and second because I am have more experience with them. Both are good products but the single XW will be easier in the long run.

    XW-6048 for sure, the outbacks are outdated, not very efficient and have very limited features compared to the XW series

    Also, the OB units aren't 3.6kw units ... more like 2700 watts, the higher rating is at 25C

    The XW is a real 6kw unit with a true 12kw surge

    the xw6048 has true 240/120 split phase, I don't know what's needed to get this from the outbacks, just a sync cable, or sync & transformer.
