Hey everyone! Quick history...bought a 99 mckenzie travel trailer with 1 slide. No batteries, water heater disconnected thermostat disconnected.
We bought a battery from Walmart for $90 and seems the 12v system works. I am low income with 3 kiddos and this will be our home until further notice. HELP! I want to make this trailer able to function without shore power as renting a spot in a rv park is out of my budget right now. We live in oregon. Please can someone walk me through what I need to do. Please no negativity.

Not sure what you are asking?
Do you want to setup to run on Solar? This WILL NOT run an electric water heater, or basically anything that heats or cools. It might run lights and charge laptops during the day, provide some minimal TV or radio on sunny days.
The Walmart battery is likely NOT a true deep cycle battery, but will work for a while. A 200 watt array (solar panel/panels),
A couple of these and 'y' connectors;

a charge controller, this one would be long term reliable,

and small inverter. You could use a car inverter, but a pure sine like this one will produce a clean sine wave, easier on electronics;

Propane heat and fridge might be okay but a repeatable expense, 20lb/4.4 gallon tank every 3-4 weeks for fridge.Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites, Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
- Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects. -
Not negative but realistic! In Oregon it will be very hard for solar to work this time of year. You sure there is no other way??? Below is from Costco. Good Luck
