    Still kicking around somewhere in western Nevada--Still have family in California--So close enough for a fast drive to San Francisco Bay Area if somebody needs help.

    The bottom line to me is that government has to be funded - whatever that means. It used to be that the road to your home and the neighbors used to be maintained by a group of these neighbors who would get together once or twice a year for maintenance or repair. If some jerk went out spinning cookies and throwing rock off the road were caught it was probably not a pleasant memory for the offender. The school was in one room for K-12 just up the road and the teacher was like a family member.

    In some places as recent as year 2000 this could still be true. But we are evolving to be better by archiving these self reliant silly things and paying out-of-pocket to be better cared for.

    If I were leaving CA with that wad of equity, I am not sure where I would want to move. I do love many aspects of Texas and I am not in a hurry to leave.

    Now let's see if there is enough intestinal fortitude to make the hard decisions. When you find yourself in hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
