How to fix holes in asphalt shingles?

Well, I measured everything down to the inch. All my rail mounts hit their target except for one. I had to move the drilled hole over several inches leaving some 3/16” holes in a trail. I’m thinking I should simplify bite the bullet and have the roofer who did our roof three years ago to take care of this. Thoughts?

I'd let the pro fix it.

The pro will probably use some kind of sealant/caulk...NOT silicone.  If it's under the panels no problemo, that close it's probably under the overhang of the panel anyway.  A good flexible caulk will do the job.

If you have access to the lower edge of that tab you can use a flat bar, (super bar) to lift up the tab and slide a piece of step flashing or a single thick piece of a comp shingle up under the tab. That, along with a little roofing mastic will be a permanent fix.
