Self actuating or self resetting breakers

I normally use manually reset able breakers for the positive line from charge controller to battery.

Are there any pros and cons to using a Self actuating or self resetable breaker instead?

Pro:  you don't have to chase it down to reset it
Con:  if you get a fault and don't notice it right away, it will keep resetting till the battery is dead or the wire eventually overheats
