PWM controller? Maybe. Being able to re-aim the panel during the EQ to keep it perpendicular to the sun might help, assuming the EQ could take a few hours.Off-grid.

Might work as well (or not) on mppt controller, but was thinking the difference between EQ ~15.5 and Vmp (~18v?) might not be enough overhead voltage (~16% vs 20-30% usually recommended).
Pwm just passes pv voltage through in bursts.
Mppt are also more or less pwm in absorb and EQ, but I don't know what (if any) effects buck circuits in mppt controllers have in absorb/EQ.Off-grid.

My pwm is not settable it's eq voltage is 14.8?? So I'm be using mppt.
My panel vmp is 19v. Still on the low end as far as overhead ~22℅
Assuming I can get 5 1/2 amps at 15.5 for 5 or 6 hrs.
Even if it took more than 1 day. Would 2.5℅ of capacity be high enough.2kw array 6 345 q cells make sky blue 60 cc

Eventually if left long enough the voltage will increase to EQ levels, I have a 20W panel connected directly to a 45Ah battery so ~2.5% charge rate after 2 weeks of full tropical sun it reached 15.4V without loads, it was near full charge to begin with, the battery is used for an electric fence charger.1500W, 6× Schutten 250W Poly panels , Schneider MPPT 60 150 CC, Schneider SW 2524 inverter, 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Battery Bodyguard BMS
Second system 1890W 3 × 300W No name brand poly, 3×330 Sunsolar Poly panels, Morningstar TS 60 PWM controller, no name 2000W inverter 400Ah LFP 24V nominal battery with Daly BMS, used for water pumping and day time air conditioning.
5Kw Yanmar clone single cylinder air cooled diesel generator for rare emergency charging and welding.
