Why is there two positive and two negative connection points for batteries on this unit. Does it mean that i can connect two batteries on the unit..

    More than likely it's to allow a parrallel feed from the same battery, heavy gauge is more difficult to work with, parallel runs can equal the required gauge or square mm. requirements of a single larger conductors, without the large lugs and conductors.
