Opera browser may save a few watts when configured to do so...

Opera allows the option of black tabs instead of white. This option is called "enabling dark theme".  Also allows a customized start page with some pretty dark start pages available.....such as "dark road".

Mozilla had a disconcerting habit of wanting to "refresh my browser". Which meant that it wiped out my add-ons...such as AbBlock and U-Block. Why?

The mozilla browser "refresh" is for easily cleaning a corrupted profile.  Should be easy enough to reload the add-ons that count.

Mozilla is starting to act like the state of Kalifornia. We know what's best for you. It now warns me logging into my brokerage, that I may reveal personal info.  And treatment of cookies.    Don't worry, We Know Best for You.

I don't like to use anything that behaves as though it "knows what is best for me".  The new generation of young uns that have so many entitled delicate little statue removing snowflakes was raised, to a degree, by government and modern psychology. Both of whom have the arrogance to believe they know what is best for humans.

The worst of the worst seem to gravitate towards positions of power and control....in DC for example.

Because it gave an option to do a refresh, and somebody clicked it.  :-P

Turning on Data Saver in opera (or using the google data savings plugin) can also indirectly save power (and directly save bandwidth).
