How do i effectively repair solar panels that have been surged

Hello. I have acquired several free solar panels. I mean alot!!! 400+
I would like to understand exactly how my solar panels work?
From cell to cell voltage, how to measure current and voltage.
If any ohms should go through a diode or not ( i know it should only go one direction, but is there minute ohms possibly in the other direction)?
And is there a way to measure voltage from diode to diode to see were the damage is in the cell loop?
And any relevant info that i could use.
I am prepared to measure and remove bad cells and replacewith new ones and reseal the entire panel
Thanks sincerely
Karl

it may help you understand how to pull them apart for repair, and how to re-assemble.
Beware, the actual PV cells are thin, brittle wafers, and when they crack, become useless.
