Are there any good 240v 2500-3000 watt inverters sine that can wire directly into a 240 breaker in your panel ??the panel being regular grid style(disconnected from grid) with a bonded neutral/ground..?? for a reasonable price..

Re: 240v inverters
Are you looking for pure 240 VAC or 120/240 VAC at 60 Hz inverters?
What battery bank voltage?
Are you looking for the inverter to "drive" the main panel or plug into the main panel to AC inverter to protected sub panel?
Native generator support (AC2 input, generator auto start)?
Inverter+Charger or just AC inverter?
Grid Tie function (Feeding back to grid)?

Let's see.
"Disconnected from grid"
"Wire directly into 240 breaker"
So, substituting grid power with inverter power?
Yes, there are several inverters that can do that. Probably not in the 3kW range, though: at 240 VAC split phase you're usually 4kW and up on a 48 Volt system.
Examples:
Magnum MS4024 (24 Volt) http://www.solar-electric.com/inverters-controllers-accessories/inverters/maenin/maensiwainac/maenms4040wa1.html
Magnum MS4448PAE (48 Volt) http://www.solar-electric.com/inverters-controllers-accessories/inverters/maenin/maensiwainac/maenms4444wa.html
Outback Radian GS4048 (48 Volt) http://www.solar-electric.com/inverters-controllers-accessories/inverters/ouin/rasein/outback-power-radian-series-inverter-gs4048a.html
Conext XW4024 (24 Volt) http://www.solar-electric.com/inverters-controllers-accessories/inverters/xain/nexaxwseinan/xaxwhyin.html
Conext XW4548 (48 Volt) http://www.solar-electric.com/inverters-controllers-accessories/inverters/xain/nexaxwseinan/xaxw12hyin.html
You can also use something like an Outback FX series (120 VAC output) with an autotransformer on the output to get 240 VAC: http://www.solar-electric.com/inverters-controllers-accessories/inverters/ouin/oupooffgrand/outback-power-pure-sinewave-inverter-fx2524t.html and http://www.solar-electric.com/x-240.html -

no gen
just inverter
no grid tie
the point is mostly to avoid the rewiring for a 120v system.just an idea .. -

I'd go with the Radian for that application. Outback makes very solid inverters. -

Rewiring is pretty easy, if your trying to get off cheap and don't need the 240v, I only had 1800watt Prosine when I moved into my 'new' place. I rewired the main Breaker box(now a sub) for 120v. Though I don't know of any cheap 48v inverters...Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites, Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
- Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects. -
Re: 240v inverters
Half radian, or a two stack of small FXs?
Or, you could be really really radical and start a movement away from that silly split phase thing americans do, and move to real 240V, and get an export VFX, yeeha!1.8kWp CSUN, 10kWh AGM, Midnite Classic 150, Outback VFX3024E,

Re: 240v invertersIsn't the Radian a 8Kw unit ? (or do they have a smaller one) ?
