I started my own Blog and I need input:) So far I have almost all of my Off Grid stories and I will be adding all of my remodeling stories, rving, cooking, and gardening:). I thought it was time to have it all in "one" place. I just started so not all of my categories are in place. I will get there:)

Mike husband and I are also going to build a store and cabins this year.

Please come over and check it out. My stepdaughter designed my Logo and I think it looks pretty good. If you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know on my blog. I am new to this;)

You can also subscribe to my blog and you will get an e-mail when I write a new story.

Here is the site:)

So, if the off-grid story was started in 2008, how is it working out now? any updates ?

I've never heard of crockpot bread before, I'll have to look into that myself.

Culverts - get the plastic ones, with the smooth lining, there is no cleaning required with them.

I think you have a post here somewhere else? recall seeing some of the images before, though I'm on other solar site, so perhaps i'm comfused.

I guess there is no inspection for code compliance where your at? as you don't have any wiring in conduit inside or limited access outside.
Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites,  Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
    - Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects.

Thank you. The crockpot bread was an experiment...not too bad but not as good as the real stuff:)

Re: Living Off Grid And More

I am finally caught up and posting new stories.

Spring is in the air and I'm getting excited about my plans for this year. Anyone else?

Here is a recap of last year. Maybe some of you can give me some ides for a better trellis for my pole beans and also tomato cages??

I added a new story today about gardening and we will soon start on the 2013 chapters.

Re: Living Off Grid And More

wish my plants looked that good at that time of year. it's a bit colder here longer.

i guess you know you don't pull leaf lettuce out of the ground, but rather cut it near the base of the leaf to allow another leaf to sprout out of it.

as to the pole beans, maybe use some widely spaced chicken wire fencing instead of string. i did that with cucumbers. at the end of the season you unhook the fencing and roll it up after you untangle and remove the plant remnants.
