Home Automation

With 10+ inches of snow on the panels, I placed the PV system off line. This is a good time to make upgrades. I am incorporating the PV system into a home automation system.

My goal is to combine the PV system and TED 1001, then add security, data logging, plus more.

The main component is an Advantech Adam 5000, Link: http://www.advantech.com/products/ADAM-5000-Series/sub_1-368QR0.aspx
As an industrial device, it is very flexible to meet my current and future needs.

I have just started, as such, some of the software/hardware is missing or non-working. Currently working is Heater in the HVAC Systems tab and battery Volts in the Power systems tab.

nice! what are your solar system specs? I guess you are content with it to be heading in this direction now. looks like it will be intresting to deal with. I'd make sure I could still operate everyhing manually to though.

BTW that link only shows a "tightVNC" link/url, no data.

    thats cool! keep us updated.

I get that at times, I must restart Firefox. Looks like a Java thing.

    mikeo-
I am using TightVNC. Very nice free software for remote control/viewing.

    RWB-
I am at about $2100.00. Could have done it for about $1500.00 or less. Found out I did not need to buy some stuff.

    Rest-

Thanks!!!! Work is still in progress.
