    I'm a new guy here but I have been around the turbines for a while now. You are absolutely right. The turbine manufactures are basing their numbers on high wind speeds. no loads, etc. Their rebuttal is always that the AWEA has standards that they follow and they are supported by the DOE/NREL. They are doing more harm than good to the small wind industry and folks whom have integrity. There are a couple of turbine companies out there that are working on turbines using real numbers. Solgen power is one that uses some serious materials and designs that may put a hurting on company's that are scandalous.
