Video of our solar panel project

I took some home movies while installing our photovoltaic array.  There's no new information for the folks on this forum, but it might be some entertainment value, if you're trying to kill some hours on some dreary winter's night.  Or, if you have a friend considering an installation, this is a good intro to what was involved in my case.

    Thanks, I'm DL now.

Is it OK to put a link on my site, to your site ? What's archive.org bandwidth policy?

I don't mind the links at all, if it helps or entertains one other person, that's good.

archive.org is the Internet Archive, and is like a Public Library. There are no bandwidth restrictions that I'm aware of. Their charter is to take just about anything, as long as it's non-commercial, and you permit them to distribute. That means the quality of things posted varies widely. There isn't as much really popular or fun stuff - that goes to YouTube, Google Video, etc.

If you send me your address in a private email, I can mail you a DVD, which will have more stuff than the download. Free, of course.

    Hi, James!

The hosting site encodes the streaming videos as mpeg-4, except for the really huge version download, which is DivX.  My best guess is that the needed codec is not installed on your computer. Translated into English, here are things you might try:

    1) Download the Quicktime player from Apple at

    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html

    - OR -

    2) Download the DivX player (the free one) from

    http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/

    - OR -

    3) Ask a tech-saavy friend to help you install the MPEG-4 or DivX codec into your Windows Media Player.

to borrow somenoe else's tag line, Hope That Helps!
