Hello folks
Im a new kid here. Im doing a big install for a friend this coming week. There is 44/224 watt Sharp panels, 2 Sunnyboy 5000 inverters. It's not my first install but it is my first on the ground. I love the idea of standing on the ground as I work. Here's a link to the wood rack. I will be using Uni-rac to mount the panels on.
Here's a pic of my solar work trailer. Sunshine is free with a few grand of equipment }:o)
Peace along the way

I can't tell from the photos, but is the wood rack going to last as long as the panels will ?
(is it treated wood?)
The batteries in your trailer, are packed tightly together. This can cause the central ones to run warmer than the outer ones, and have a different capacity, resulting in some overcharged, and some undercharged. You'll notice the effects in a couple of years, as the bank becomes so un-balanced it won't equalize. And it's a Lot of weight. Adding some 1x2 between them will improve air flow, and if bolted from the outside/underside of the trailer, will stiffen the structure too. (as in box frame reinforcement)
Trailer Battery Wiring :
because it's wired symmetrically, you will have the closest 2 batteries serving the main load, and the 2 remote ones, seeing little load.
Here's a great writeup on how to properly wire your battery bank (diagonally) http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/batt_con.html and WHY.Powerfab top of pole PV mount | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

Also, from a pure safety point of view--put some sort of cover over the batteries to help prevent tools/parts from causing shorts on the batteries (and possible fire/explosion).

Re: 9856 watts going up on Long Island
there is a sticky thread in the pv beginners section to post pics of your system at and we'd appreciate it if you'd put them there so that people don't have to look all over the place to find them.

Re: 9856 watts going up on Long Island
I will post any new pic’s in the other folder when I have them. That’s a great battery diagram. I will rewire to #3 and add some space between them next week some time. I do have a vented cover that goes over them when im on the road, it vent through the side wall.
Peace along the way
