Do inverters mess with powerline reliability such as X10, UPB, and Insteon????

My entire house is wired with Insteon controllers and switches. They use the powerline for communications. Does anyone know if grid tie inverters interfere with powerline signals?

I know for a fact, that Xantrax GT 3.8 works fine with an extensive X-10 install

off hand i would say they shouldn't be bothered. the thd of a quality grid-tie inverter is well within what even the power company may put out. there is nothing for sure though on those items running fine without interference on any particular gt inverter anymore than the power company would guarantee it to work with their power. you might want to ask the manufacturers of those items like the x10 if they know of any problems in using a gt inverter with those products. i suspect most wouldn't have the answer as they might not even know what you're talking about.

Sometimes, there are "filters" such that they "suck up" the control signals, or generate a noise harmonic that nails the 10KHz (or is it 100KHz ?) carrier frequency. Mine worked fine with the GT3.8
