GoodWe hybrid inverter GW20K-ET

Hello everyone

I just bought a GoodWe hybrid inverter GW20K-ET, unfortunately it only has one battery connection. On this connection the hybrid inverter can charge/discharge the battery with 50A. GoodWe offers Lynx F Plus+ batteries that can be connected in parallel. This battery can be charged/discharged with a maximum current of 25A.

The question is: if you connect two of these batteries in parallel, can you charge and discharge them with a total of 50A, or only with 25A? Does anyone have any information here?

Thanks for any insights!

    Welcome to the forum Chris!

It appears the answer is yes, you can parallel and get 25 amps per stack... You would need to use the correct size of wiring (mm^2) to safely support the paralleled current (I.e., 25 amps for one, 50 amps for two, etc.).

HOWEVER, I have no knowledge of this system (which is a "high voltage" stack of batteries) and CAN Bus (?) communications between the Hybrid Inverter and Battery Bank(s). The documentation is here:

Another question... Are you "stacking" the batteries (2-5?) first, then adding a second "tower" with another 2-5 stacks? Note that each "tower" needs to have the same number of modules stacked (I.e., each set would be 2/2, 3/3, etc. of "matched" modules to match parallel connected tower voltages).

I would guess that both 2/2 would work as would one tower of 4 modules (same amount of stored energy in either configuration--Save some costs with only one "tower head").
