Finally found a solution to divert those vent pipes. They're always taking up space in which extra panels could be, such a waste.
Code changes now allow for a product called Solar Roof Jack to Divert. Haven't had any problems with inspectors and they all give instant approval.

The roof vents are often the easiest way for a plumber with a snake to clear a clog. Most houses don't have clean-out plugs, and if you can't snake through a roof vent, you have to open lines up under a sink - messy and stinky.

I'd like to hear from the plumbing experts about having vent pipes lay horizontally in freezing weather conditions. Especially long horizontal runs.

I see very little benefit to these other than, for aesthetic reasons, being able to squeeze another panel in that will spend the majority of its time in the shadow of a vent. Might as well put a dummy panel there.

If using such a thing, why wouldn't you run the opening to the north side of the array? That would avoid shadowing and provide roof slope to the +/- horizontal part for drainage.Off-grid.

That would make more sense than the way it is being presented. Or just relocate the vent from inside the attic.2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric, 460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Hi everyone I'm new to the site and I saw the product solar roof Jack. To me it seems like a great idea. I currently have several projects where roof vents are an issue. If they can actually be used where they are run under the panels and out of the way then the efficiency of the solar system would be much higher. This means less panels needed that are cost for the customer easier sell for me. Has anybody used these and had an issue with them?

If you have enough space and height one can redesign the vent system and use 1/3 of the vents.
Maybe someone else knows about the product roof jack. Sounds like more feet on the roof to me.
I would much rather use a ground mount or a pergola and leave the roof alone.

I am guessing you are asking about this product?

You probably need to talk with your AHJ (building department/inspector) to see if they would accept these offset vents...
I have a bit of a concern--At times the easiest (only?) method to clear a stopped drain was to put a snake down through the roof vent. These "hard 90 degree turns) could make it very difficult to put a snake through these offset vents.
