Wind Turbine when not in use

Hello everyone and good morning. Quick inquiry about wind turbines... If I am not going to be on my property for a few weeks at a time, and will only be using the power when I am there, what does one do about the wind turbine system during an extended absence? I wouldn't want to ruin the system be leaving it constantly running, charging or hooked up. Thank you all in advance.

    I'd use something like a rope, or volleyball net to snag the blades and prevent it from spinning. 
    Some turbines allow for shorting all outputs and the heavy load stalls the prop.   But only apply when stopped - slamming the electric brake on while spinning will result in something broken

    I just engage the "dump" function on mine.  It has a Midnitesolar 250 Classic controller and a MidniteClipper, so it's easy.  Engaging the shorting type "brake" turns the turbine and cable to controller into a heater.  Works, but could cook the works.
