The charging system. Off grid, Honda e7000 generator, AIMS 4KW inverter. Generator is grounded at site, cable runs directly to inverter (grounded) as ac input, output from inverter to panel and grounded at panel. Inverter will not accept in coming power from generator. What is wrong with this picture? I am led to believe that it is a grounding problem but do not know how to correct it. Can someone provide a diagram and/or recommendations. Thanks

Not really familiar with your equipment but usually you only want a system grounded in one location, typically at the panel.  Have you tried lifting the generator ground and seeing what happens - at least that would let you know if grounding is an issue.   Are there any ground fault circuits on the panel, generator or elsewhere?  They can get confused with two grounds.  Also, you need to check how your neutral is wired.  There are many posts on proper neutral connections and bonding of neutral to ground (again usually only in one place, at panel).  Sometimes generators come bonded and sometimes they are not so best to check.

Is this the same problem  from November of last year which is unresolved?  The internal neutral ground bonding required by OSHA for use on job sites most likely is the issue, the pdf attached explains how to remove the bonding when using a transfer switch, which an inverter charger has, it's a little dated and perhaps doesn't cover you exact model, but still relevant.
