    Welcome to the forum S8-E10,

You probably need to be a bit more specific about what you are looking for in a receiver/MP3 player/amplifier wattage/speakers/headphones/etc.

Are you looking for USB type equipment, or a larger system, etc.

I still believe a small/efficient AC inverter can address a lot of issues vs trying to do a pure DC system (hard to send a lot of Watts at 12 VDC much more than a few 10's of feet without using very large/heavy copper power cables).

I am surprised by how much power my 12v Car Head Unit uses. Even without an Amp and only running Blue Tooth, so no CD motor.

You can count on 5a at moderate volume, without an Amp.

An AC unit might be wiser, if you are already running an Inverter to compensate for the Inverter's losses..

Man, I use to go through Vintage Amps (when they weren't Vintage) like But Wipe.

Luxman (was the Best Sound Quality of all just too small for my Teen Age Needs)

    Sony

    Pioneer

    Sansui

    Technics

I had them all and was forever trading up to New and Improved. Until Phono Jack became obsolete, let alone Moving Coil Cartridge I required. I do still have the Kenwood TT (Marble Like and 40lbs) but had to give up the MC Cartridge because my Amp doesn't support one.

I dearly miss using my Kenwood KR 8050  reciever. Now that I'm living in Baja I have no room for it and other related components. My extensive LP collection and turntables still just sit, waiting to be connected again some day.

2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old  but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric,  460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Plenty of Baja Sea of Cortez sunshine.
