Since it's a 3 phase genset, you are only going to be able to connect to 1/3 of rotor, so you can only pull 4kw off it, not 12kw

You could look on ebay for a 3 phase rectifier and use the genset to directly charge the battery bank (unregulated)

The larger problem is you need to be doing preventive maintenance on the gear, before you are chasing failures

So mike I do agree on the taking care of the gear I was not as familiar with it and shyed away from it.  Uchbetter at it now. But is there any other way to hook it to my system it has a port were it can be stacked and it has a three phase plug in on the side of the inverter .
    Thanks mike.

I'm not familiar with that inverter, but generally my understanding is 3-phase system would have 3 inverters (or multiples of three), each of which supplying one phase. Maybe check for a manual online for your model if you don't have one. It looks to be some sort of Xantrex, so there's a good chance there's a manual out there for it.

I can barely see the pics, so I didn't notice the model of the inverter, so if it's 3 phase, then the gen would hook up EZ to it, but find a manual, it will have schematics of it all.

I also found a trace t-240 in moth balls what will this do can it be used in hooking up a 3 phase gen?
