trying to identify solar panel

I fond a set of 4 Shell Solar panels on a gov auction site. there are no remaining identifying tags on the panels so trying to fiind them outside dimensions. they are 26 inches by 52 inches. Also a strange MC box arrangement.

Any ideas? shell site only lists smaller or large dimensions, might they be old Seimens? cant find a cross link.

thansk

Hows this for you had to resize it for forum

If you see a picture on the web right click on it and copy it , paste 2 your PC then upload to the forum . I had to resize this but I use a free program that one of the experts on here reccommended called infraview its easy and brilliant for resizing photos. HTH

Re: trying to identify solar panel

Thanks Jim, I think you are right on...
they sure do look right. I figured they were more than the 80w versions I found. but definitely not the 160w version.
I am going to make a bid on them now that I think I know.
they are about 350 miles away...

    thanks again,
    Eric

ps where/how did you find the info?

Re: trying to identify solar panel

Based on the size info (26" x 52"), I guessed they were 100 W modules (~13 sq. ins/W). So, off to Google looking for "Shell solar 100 W". 8) The one's identified are 660 mm x 1316 mm, or 25.98 " x 51.81". Your pics with the unusual connection boxes helped as well!

Re: trying to identify solar panel

I think im getting better at this b4 Creezer answered with clarity my next suggestion was to try an efficiiency factor of 12 % and try using the 1000 watts to m2 rule, to work out the possible power. I would like someone like Jim to see how close this wold have worked, too much vino to try tonight from me. How close wold I have got Jim ?

Re: trying to identify solar panel

    Nigel,

    You're definitely on the right track: 0.66 m x 1.316 m x 1,000 W/M^2 x 12% = 104 W.

    Pour yourself another glass! ;)

Now, where did I leave my glass of Friday night vino?

    Regards,
