Is it possible to have to well pumps in one 6" well case?

I have an existing 220 volt, 1.5 HP Franklin well pump.

Well is 130' deep.

220 volt pump is set at 120'.

Static water level during the summer is 25'. Static water level during
the winter is 18'. Draw down is 2'.

I want to leave the 220 volt pump in the well casing and add a solar well pump in the case.

The solar pumps I am considering are the Grundfos 6 SQF-3 or the Sun Pumps SCS 10-600-240 BL.

I know the Grundfos pump can run on 220 volts AC but the existing Franklin 220 volt AC pump is only one year old. I like having redundancy in my water supply system.

Is this possible?

Two is one and one is none.

If you can fit the pump & torque arrestor into the existing casing and not interfere with the pipe or wires, I'd go for it.

I'm considering a similar set-up. (with two solar grundfos pumps) you can glue a manifold and split the flows thru two smaller pipes to get past the other pump with grey schedule 80 pvc....I would treat both pumps as a unit. So retrieval is simpler.

    I'm considering the same
I have a similar setup , & the tools & know how to do this .
My pump has no arrestor  on the main 120' drop , . My head is 60 winter 55 summer  .
I see 2000$$  pumps of grundfos pumps , NOT going to happen . Where are you at in the st@Eric_R

with such a shallow well why are you contemplating such a setup..  that pump is far oversized for such  a minimal lift...  a 1/2 horse pump will work just fine , ours was a 100 foot lift  ... would kill for a 25 foot lift...

ps any water below the static level does not get lifted... ony the distance to the static level is used...

also one person can easily hoist up a pump ans piping (plastic) by hand , no other tools needed... AMIK

An important consideration for any pump selection (whether single or combo-hybrid) is the well recharge rate. Obviously, if the drawdown is greater than the water coming in, then you start dry pumping. Just something to consider.

I have fixed all my neighbours wells but one . 8 foot deep & beside the septic field (city folk & not worth my air , they know it all ) .
    I have 3 wells , 220,120 & 12 feet . all for a different use .
2000 $ for a pump kills my idea , panels & a pump with a switch with some real photos or what one has done & where they are works for me. my 12 footer is solar , buts that to keep the cold storage "PIT" dry . twin 40' containers filled with cold fruits to wine

My well supply is 20G !! I can run the 220VAC 1.5 HP pump all day & it still is the same . WET COAST .
I have underground sprinklers for 4A 2.5H and no problem but $$$ power . So I'd like a solar on top of.

Farm has 25' wells with 660VAC  at drowning water  output .

"Is it possible to have to well pumps in one 6" well case?"

Certainly,  I have done it many times.

I usually have the well driller put down a 5" plastic well and pump it off.
    Then I install the pumps.
Use 4" pumps and 1" black polly or PEX  line to the pump.
You have to put the two pumps down together and pull them together.
You can use a two pipe pitless adapter (designed for a jet pump) to give you the two underground openings.

So tell us (me) more about the wireless water level sensor.   I have a setup that could use one too.
