Line side tap meter adapter

I just saw this adapter on a nearby home with a solar installation and thought it was a pretty elegant solution to the requirement for a line-side tap. I hadn't seen one of these before.

It looks to me like the setup that most utilities allow for connecting a standby generator. Unfortunately the local utility in NH, Eversource doesn't allow them (while some Vermont utilities offer to install them.

The ones (one) I have seen for generators will disconnect the home from the utility feed and connect to the genset when the genset plug is inserted (as I recall). This one does not appear to do that (hardwired to GT inverter?).

Here is a different brand/implementation. Costs ~$400 (retail).

That is a two pole breaker under that access panel. It appears that this can do either a line side or meter side tap.
