battery bank setup

This is widely considered to be the correct way to wire a 2x2 series/parallel 24v battery bank comprising 4x12v batteries.
The diagonally positioned load/charge points attempt to balance the current through each string. For your setup you can do 3 strings of 4x6v batteries connected up in a similar arrangement, but all the extra wiring and connections will probably result in some uneven distribution of current. It's unfortunately unavoidable but doesn't mean it won't give you good service. Just monitor the bank regularly and swap the batteries around a bit if you have to. Some batteries are going to be stronger than others and what you want to try and do is get and even mix of stronger and weaker batteries in each string. Should all the weaker batteries be in "string A" and all the stronger batteries be in "string C" then what you will find is "string C" doing most of the work while "string A" sits largely idle. Worst case scenario is the weaker string discharging the stronger string - but that is unlikely with relatively new batteries at a high state of charge.
Note: wires, lugs and connection points should all be identical in gauge and length. All connections must be clean to ensure the lowest possible electrical resistance.

As for the Blue Sea switch, you would be better off using a DC rated breaker as a switch. Read this:
http://www.amplepower.com/primer/burnt_sw/index.html
The Blue Sea switches are not safe (or UL listed) for your application, although from looking at the picture of your battery bank, I can see that safety (and following code) is not a concern of yours.
