Xantrex 4024 Gen support amp problem!

I was trying to adjust the gen support amps from 14 to 30 amps today using my Xantrex System Control Panel and the maximum amperage it allows is 24 amps.
The range is 0-48 but if I keep increasing the value it returns to 0 after 24.
I have the manuals and cannot find anything that I've missed.
Your help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks 90cummins

What is the AC2 in setting ?? I thought that the support had to be less than that by some number of apms, not sure though. My Outback is automatically set 2 amps below the ACin setting.

Maybe I am missing something (no expert here), but:

    4,000 Watts / 240 VAC = 16.7 amps

And if I recall correctly, you can run a maximum current (from the inverter) on a single 120 VAC leg:

    16.7 Amps * srt(2) = 24.6 amps maximum (~2,834 Watts max into a single 120 VAC load)

So, that might be the reason you are limited to 24 amps maximum.

The other possibility, what size do you have the AC2 Breaker input set to? It the value ~24 amps maximum? (or AC2 Breaker could be 24 amps * 1.25 NEC derate = 30 amp genset breaker)

    My two guesses.

yep, all the settings are interdependent, and some are derated, giving you sometimes double derating ! Yow. That's why I like the combox, to see what's coming in and going out, and I can tweak with the SCP to get it just right.

That's the problem; I was thinking amps @ 120v the input is at 240v.
    looks like I'll set it at 15amps = 3.6kw.
This is a great community, help when you need it!!
    Thanks
