Sorry if this has been answered before. I am looking for a good fuse from my Midnite Kid CC to Batteries. If anyone can link me a good fuse i appreciated

Blue Sea has a nice product line, also have you looked at the Midnite breakers?

I have the breakers from panels to CC. Just need a good fuse from CC to batteries1460 Watts Solar @24v. 675 AH Battery Bank using 12 6v Trojan T-105. 1 Midnite Classic 150. 1500 Watt 24v Samlex Pure Sine Inverter

? You don't trust the breakers?Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites, Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
- Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects. -
I really like the MN breakers as 1. reusable if there ever is a fault 2. can be used as the disconnect
I do use a fuse and a breaker between batteries and inverter... breaker as a disconnect and a class T fuse for a possible catastrophic short failure. Is the possibility of a catastrophic short why you want a fuse?Northern NM, 624 watts PV, The Kid CC, GC-2 batteries @ 24 VDC, Outback VFX3524M -
These BlueSea fuse holders are nice/small:

Here are some higher amperage circuit breakers:

I have a 300 amp DC fuse between the bank and my inverter that I want to change out to a breaker. Like has been said, it doubles as an easier disconnect.

Thanks BB. I like the single fuse block.
Photowhit. As stated before. Breakers are on Panels. I have nothing from CC to Batteries. Just want some more Protection1460 Watts Solar @24v. 675 AH Battery Bank using 12 6v Trojan T-105. 1 Midnite Classic 150. 1500 Watt 24v Samlex Pure Sine Inverter -
I have suggested before (I am a belt and suspenders kind of guy regarding safety)--Have a heavy set of bolt cutters and/or a fire axe handy if you ever need to "disconnect" the battery bank wiring.

Fire axes are good; but I know someone whose only disconnect device is a wrench or the fire axe.Northern NM, 624 watts PV, The Kid CC, GC-2 batteries @ 24 VDC, Outback VFX3524M

Yes, something, anything is often better than nothing ... BUT, the List price on a holder and one fuse is about $58.00 Even if these two items were only $45.00 sipped, It is still only one holder and one fuse.
Wonder why not use a MidNite breaker, as mentioned above? Yes, a MidNite breaker belongs in some form of a box, but the MNEPV breakers, up to 63 Amps rating are less than $12.00 the last time I checked. They are switch rated for at least 5,000 switching cycles -- a disconnect and circuit protection in one unit. Placed in a MN Baby Box or Big Baby box, and not much more invested than would that BS holder and a single fuse.
MNEPV Breaker, $11.35, up to 63 A rating:

MN Baby Box:

If you were thinking of having both the CC and an inverter breaker in a box, perhaps the Big Baby box would better -- it h as more wiring space;

Hope that you have a largish breaker on your inverter. This may well be your largest exposure for catastrophic failure. The Blue Sea Thermal breakers did not have a very large current Interrupt rating, the last time I checked. For the inverter, and CC, one really needs a minimum of about 5,000 Amp interrupt rating, as in a major fault, batteries can supply huge currents. The breaker needs to interrupt this huge current, without causing a fire, even on a system with a 24 volt battery ... IMO.
Forget if the MN KID CC needs its power to be cycled off in order to Update the FirmWare, but, if it does, you will really want a competent circuit breaker that can be used as a switch.
FWIW, have no axe to grind on this. Just a happy user of MidNite products.
