Microinverters

I am wondering if anyone has ever tried using a microinverter with an off-grid system. Would the microinverter try to pump all of the power from my batteries into the AC devices I connect?

Microinverters require an existing current to sync up to or they will not produce any current. So they have pretty much no use off grid.
Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites,  Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).

I am not sure I understand your question... A micro "Grid Tied" (GT) inverter? Or some other type of off grid micro inverter?

If a GT inverter--They require a working 120/240 VAC 60 Hz source (or Euro power equivalent) voltage source to provide stable AC power. A GT Micro inverter cannot generate/regulate AC power on its own.

I have a client installing one of these. It works offgrid but I too may be missing the point here.
