Magnet clamp in Fronius Inverter

I was wondering if anyone in here has installed a fronius 11kw uniphase because the box includes a Permastat Static Dissipative plate and Magnet clamp But they are not mentioned in the manual.

Sorry, the permastat marked plates are for combining strings but what is the magnet for?

Sounds like tools for working on the inverter... the Permastat sounds anti-static material/work surface. Used when you are pulling circuit boards out of the box to be replaced. The magnet--to hold the screws????

Permastat can also be the shrink wrap used in packaging--To reduce static buildup during packing/unpacking (static electricity is a very common killer/life reduction event for modern electronic devices).

The static bag thing is a copper plate which does seem to appear in the manual talking about being a piece for combining strings.

The magnet is a clamp magnet. It came in a bag with a 8" black cable and an 8" red cable and the magnet is encased in a plastic clamp which closes over the set of wires.

are you sure it is a magnet. It sound like something you slip over the wire to count amps or watts.

Sounds like a copper plate (bus) to connect all the solar array/strings common negative leads together???

The "magnet"--Is it really a magnet or a Ferro Magnetic Material (basically a material used to make transformer and inductor cores). These are used to "filter out" radio interference from electronic devices (one of many uses). Ferrite Beads:

    Attachment not found.

You run the wires through the center of the bead, and clamp it shut (if you have room, you can wrap/loop the wires tthrough the clamp to further reduce radio noise.

There are Current Sensors (current transformers) that can clip around a wire, much like the ferrite chokes, and they can measure the amps in the wire, under the insulation.
