Prowatt 1400i sw cannot turn off

As per title, inverter will not turn off, nothing showing on its display but power is still available. Anyone have any ideas?

I would guess that the on//off switch just activates a control circuit rather than directly switching anything, and the same circuit board that interfaces with the switch also drives the display.
Not likely to be a fuse or anything simple, but if the logic board has plug-in wire connectors, then carefully removing the DC input (you do have a breaker in the line, yes?) and then removing and reseating all of the connectors might help.
Beyond that, I would say it needs professional help.
If it is out of warranty, I do not know what help, if any, you can get from Xantrex.
The unit seems to have been designed for use in a motor vehicle, and provides 230V power through a European receptacle.

I think I've read about something like this while on the boating forums(following up on info about LiFePo batteries) I think a quick push turns off the display, but you have to push and hold to turn off the unit? Might give it a try.
Home system 4000 watt (Evergreen) array standing, with 2 Midnite Classic Lites,  Midnite E-panel, Magnum MS4024, Prosine 1800(now backup) and Exeltech 1100(former backup...lol), 660 ah 24v Forklift battery(now 10 years old). Off grid for 20 years (if I include 8 months on a bicycle).
    - Assorted other systems, pieces and to many panels in the closet to not do more projects.

Thanks for the replies, I'm in the UK in my RV/Motorhome at the moment, inverter was working fine until the other day, I will disconect and investigate when I get home. I was also thinking about buying a remote control for the inverter, would that bypass the on/off switch?

Hard to say for sure without a schematic, but it is equally likely that the problem is in the electronics rather than the switch itself. In that case the remote might not help at all.
If the remote switch is in parallel with the local switch and it is the switch that has gone bad, then adding the remote might be cheaper than trying to replace the local switch. Especially if the remote display is attractive to you on its own.
