other than the site being in all ?????? because I don't have that language loaded, it looks like a variation of a Savonius generator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savonius_wind_turbine - only perhaps, the drag scoop is replaced with an airfoil, kind of like a squirrel cage fan.Powerfab top of pole PV mount | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

Re: innovation wind generator
Or perhaps more like a type of Darrieus

Re: innovation wind generator
Mike,
Check out the upper right corner of the main screen picture and see the English. PRC intellectual property makes me think the characters were chinese, just a guess. The translation to english was very good. I've tried to read too many owners manuals that were "direct" translations, hence not understandable.

Re: innovation wind generator
i would say it is a darrieus type and both of the darrieus and savonius types are in the vertical axis wind turbine family. the darrieus and savonius are quite often used together because the darrieus does not normally self start. this can be seen in wayne's link to the picture of the winstar 530g as the savonius buckets can be seen below the darriueus wind turbine. generally, these types are of lower efficiency and lower rpms so generators usually can't be directly driven, but need geared. the savonius has a very low starting speed and both types being vawts don't need to be aimed into the wind.
